Minimum Requirements, Cloud and Your Servers
What Windows is supported?
eWay-CRM Desktop runs on Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8, 8, 7, Vista, and XP.
We though require that Microsoft supports your Windows. For more information about what Microsoft supports versions of Windows, contact them directly.
Do you support Microsoft 365?
Yes.
eWay-CRM Desktop runs inside the classic Outlook for Windows. As long as you install Outlook onto your computer, eWay-CRM Desktop will run perfectly.
eWay-CRM Online runs inside the new and classic Outlook for Windows, Outlook Online, Mac, and mobile.
Do you support Mac?
eWay-CRM Online runs perfectly inside Outlook for Mac and Outlook Online (under the Microsoft 365 subscription).
If you need to work with eWay-CRM Desktop, you need Microsoft Windows. You can use Parallels Desktop, VMWare, or any other virtualization tool to run your Windows (and eWay-CRM) on Mac.
How exactly eWay-CRM works? Is it an online or offline app?
eWay-CRM consists of 2 add-ins and 1 standalone app:
- eWay-CRM Desktop (Outlook add-in)
- eWay-CRM Online (Outlook add-in)
- Mobile app (standalone app you get from AppStore or Google Play Store)
Your data is saved in our cloud (default option) or on your servers (talk to our sales team to coordinate the installation).
They are automatically synchronized to all devices with eWay-CRM Desktop or Mobile apps. This way, your data are automatically backed up on everybody's PC and available offline.
eWay-CRM Online works online only and requires a stable internet connection.
Do I need a server to use eWay-CRM?
No, data can be hosted in the cloud which is the default option.
Can I host data on my server?
Yes, if you use eWay-CRM Professional, Enterprise, or Premium, you can keep your data on your servers that meet our minimum requirements.

Do you have a demo/trial so I can test eWay-CRM?
Yes, you can sign up for the eWay-CRM 14-day Trial to try out all the features. Please visit our signup page and create your account.
Your eWay-CRM will be automatically downgraded to the free edition after the trial period and you can freely use selected features for unlimited users.
Security
Where is my data located?
eWay-CRM synchronizes data between the local database (running on your PC) and the server database running either on your own server or in our cloud. The cloud runs in the most advanced data centers in the US or Europe based on what is closer to your location.
- Cloud partner for the U.S.: OVH US LLC, located in Virginia, United States of America (us.ovhcloud.com).
- Cloud partner for Europe: AUTOCONT a.s., Czech Republic, European Union (www.autocont.com).
Is the communication between the server and the client encrypted?
Yes. If you host your database in our cloud, the communication is encrypted through HTTPS. If you decide to run the server component on your servers, we can instruct your IT on how to set it up.
How often do you backup my data in your Cloud?
We run incremental backups of data in the cloud every other day and full backups every Sunday. Backups are stored for 2 weeks before deleting.
How does eWay-CRM ensure the security of my data when using AI?
eWay-CRM AI runs on private servers that are disconnected from the internet. This ensures that your data stays within your control and is not shared or processed externally. Additionally, the AI technology prevents sharing knowledge across clients, ensuring that data from one client isn’t used to assist another.
How can I uninstall eWay-CRM Desktop?
eWay-CRM Desktop is a standard desktop program and can be uninstalled from the Control Panel in Microsoft Windows.
If we cancel our subscription, how do we obtain the data from you?
You can export data into Excel.
If you want, we can also send you the backup of your Microsoft SQL database (in BAK).
Licensing and Editions
What plans are available?
eWay-CRM comes with four main plans:
- Free
- Basic
- Professional
- Enterprise
All contain modules Contacts and Companies, Sales, Projects, and Marketing.

What limits are in the Free plan?
eWay-CRM Free comes with unlimited users and unlimited contacts.
You can save up to 200MB of emails and documents and send up to 1,000 marketing emails each month.
Can I use multiple email accounts by one eWay-CRM user?
Yes, you can use the same eWay-CRM account for multiple email accounts. However, the automatic settings (e.g. automatically email saving or automatic sync of contacts) will work for the default email account only. Communication from other email accounts can be saved in eWay-CRM manually.
Can I use the same account for eWay-CRM Free on my second computer?
Yes, you can install eWay-CRM Free on multiple devices.
If you are interested in synchronization of contacts between eWay-CRM and Outlook, please make sure you will activate this feature on one PC only. If you activate the feature on more computers, you risk creating conflicts and duplicates. We will not hold any responsibility for such software behavior and will charge for all support requests.
For how long is the free Trial?
eWay-CRM Trial contains all features (except for the marketing module which comes in the free plan) and you can freely use it for 14 days.
After that, your account will be automatically downgraded to eWay-CRM Free. You can use it for unlimited users and unlimited time.
I tried the free trial and decided that eWay-CRM was not the right fit. How do I go about deleting my account?
Your eWay-CRM will be deleted automatically after 6 months of inactivity. You don't need to take any actions.

Migration
What happens to my data if I switch from Free to Basic, Professional, or Enterprise?
If you purchase the software, the data will be moved automatically.
Can I import data from Business Contact Manager (BCM)?
Yes, you can migrate contacts and companies easily following this instruction. If you need to migrate other information (categories, notes, custom fields, emails, etc.), contact us at info [at] eway [dash] crm [dot] com for assistance.

Functionality
Can eWay-CRM work offline?
Yes, it can.
eWay-CRM Desktop and our Mobile app work offline and your data will be synchronized automatically once you are back online.
eWay-CRM Online works online only.
Can I customize eWay-CRM (change workflows, add fields, etc.)?
Yes, you can do it yourself in the Admin Center or contact us for more details.
What is the difference between eWay-CRM and Microsoft BCM (Business Contact Manager)?
Both software tools are designed to help companies manage customers, sales, and projects. Since eWay-CRM is designed as a CRM for teams/companies the functionality covers more areas – marketing, sales, projects, and CRM. It has also advanced administration settings where you can make your own fields, customize user permissions or set up a workflow.
Do you have API?
Yes, you can use eWay-CRM API for integration with 3rd party software (e.g. accounting software) and websites (e.g. integration with online forms).

Can I integrate / transfer data from web forms to eWay-CRM?
Yes, you can integrate data from webforms into eWay-CRM. By using eWay-CRM's API, you can connect your webforms to automatically transfer data into your CRM system. This allows you to capture leads, contacts, and other information directly from your website and have it seamlessly integrated into eWay-CRM. AI in eWay-CRM
What does AI in eWay-CRM do?
AI in eWay-CRM improves managing contacts, emails, and tasks. It can fill in contact information from email signatures, detect the tone of emails, generate brief summaries, or suggest tasks that may arise from emails.
Does AI work across both eWay-CRM Desktop and eWay-CRM Online?
Yes, most AI features are available on both eWay-CRM Desktop and eWay-CRM Online. To find out more, check our detailed list of features.
Is there an additional cost for AI? What plans do I need?
AI features are included in selected plans of eWay-CRM 9. You can check the specific details of your plan to determine whether AI features are available.
How does eWay-CRM ensure the security of my data when using AI?
eWay-CRM AI runs on private servers that are disconnected from the internet. This ensures that your data stays within your control and is not shared or processed externally. Can I manually adjust the AI-generated outcome?
Yes, if the AI makes an incorrect assessment, you can manually adjust or update the AI-generated information.
Can I disable AI features if I prefer not to use them?
Yes, AI can be fully disabled through the eWay-CRM Admin Center, allowing you to control whether or not AI functionalities are active in your system.

What to do if the installation (or upgrade) is unsuccessful?
Issues can be caused by multiple reasons including your Microsoft and Outlook settings.
The most frequent problems are as follows:
- You can’t see the eWay-CRM ribbon in your Outlook. Solution is here.
- A web browser window appears once you click on any Outlook module. Solution is here.
- Your eWay-CRM ribbon is grey. In this case, please contact our support team at [email protected].
